Accounts, models and limits

Switch accounts, choose models and effort, and watch the five-hour and weekly limits of your subscriptions.

Choose and switch accounts

The account button at the bottom right of the message box shows the session's account with a usage ring. By default it shows what's left, so it empties as you use the account; set Settings › General › Usage › Show usage as to Used to make it fill instead. Click it to open a menu of accounts with their usage. On a new session, accounts are grouped by provider. You can also use Account in the session's right-click menu in the sidebar.

Two rules apply once a session has started:

  • A session can only move to another account of the same provider. A conversation can't move from Claude to Codex. To use another provider for part of the work, use Delegation.
  • Only Claude and Codex sessions can switch accounts. Antigravity and OpenCode keep their conversation in the account's own folder, so those sessions stay on the account they started with. Their account menu shows only the current account.

When you switch, BeyDock stops the session's agent process and your next message continues the same conversation on the new account.

The menu also has Usage Limits… and Manage Accounts…, which opens Settings.

Models and effort

Next to the account button is the model menu. The first four models have shortcuts, ⌘1 to ⌘4, and the rest are under More models. Claude's models are built in. For the other providers, the list comes from the provider after you sign in, so it can be empty until then.

The effort button sets how long the agent thinks before it answers. Slide between Faster and Smarter, or choose Auto to use the level the provider recommends for the model. Some models have no effort levels, which is common with OpenCode. The button is then hidden. If you change to a model that doesn't support the current effort, the effort resets.

You can also type /model and /effort.

Limits

Subscriptions have a session limit that resets every five hours and a weekly limit. Some plans add more windows. For each window BeyDock shows how much is used or left, when it resets, and a warning such as "At this pace, runs out in ~2h" when you are heading for the limit.

You'll find limits in these places:

  • The ring on the account button, and Usage Limits… in its menu.
  • Settings › Accounts, under each account.
  • The menu bar and widgets.

To read limits as used instead of remaining, change Settings › General › Usage › Show usage as.

BeyDock reads the limits of every signed-in account at launch, without sending a message, and again when you open Usage Limits… or Settings. OpenCode has no plan limits, so its ring stays empty and BeyDock doesn't invent a percentage.

When an account runs low

At 80 percent, a band appears above the message box about the five-hour or weekly limit (worded as left or used, following Show usage as). If the provider can switch accounts and another signed-in account of it has room, the band offers Continue with that account. When an account is out of usage, the band turns red. You can dismiss the warning band, but not the out-of-usage one.

For work that spreads across accounts, Delegation can start agents on the account with the most room. Its usage ceilings keep automatic account choice away from accounts that are close to their limit.
