BeyDock can show what matters outside its window: how much of your limits is left, and which sessions need you.
Menu bar items
Open Settings › Menu Bar. Under Items, switch each item on or off:
- Usage limits shows how much of your plan limits is left.
- Sessions shows working, waiting and unread sessions.
- Needs you appears only while a session waits for your approval or input.
- Keep Awake is a quick switch for Settings › General › Sleep. See Keep Awake.
Usage limits, Sessions and Needs you are on by default. Keep Awake is off.
Each item looks like a built-in macOS item: one icon in a single color, with color only when something needs attention, and an optional percentage. Click it to open a panel that looks like a menu (Keep Awake opens a regular menu with its four modes). To reorder items, hold ⌘ and drag them. macOS may hide items when the menu bar is full.
Approvals don't happen in the panel. They open in BeyDock, where you see the full command and every change.
The usage item
Choose how the gauge works with Show:
- Best Account shows how much is left on the account with the most room. It turns orange or red only when that runs low.
- Best per Provider shows one gauge for each provider's best account.
- Only When Low stays empty until a pinned account, or one that an open session uses, runs low.
Show percentage adds one number next to the gauge. In the panel, accounts are ranked by how much is left. Click an account to choose it for your next new session. Right-click it to start New Session with This Account, or to Pin or Unpin it.
In the Usage limits section you can set:
- Values to show remaining or used.
- Pinned accounts, which stay at the top of the list.
- Refresh in background: never, or every 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Each check briefly starts the provider's command line tool, one account at a time.
OpenCode has no plan limits, so it isn't listed.
Keep running
Keep running in the menu bar is on by default. Closing the window then keeps BeyDock and its menu bar items running. It needs at least one item turned on. Workflows have their own item under Settings › Workflows › Show in menu bar.
Desktop widgets
BeyDock provides two widgets in small, medium and large sizes. Add them from the macOS widget gallery:
- Usage shows how much is left on your accounts' session and weekly limits.
- Sessions shows sessions that need your approval, are working, or have finished.
Control Center controls
Add these from Control Center's controls gallery:
- Keep Awake is a toggle that keeps your Mac from sleeping while BeyDock is open.
- New Session is a button that opens BeyDock to a new session.
Signed builds
Widgets and controls talk to BeyDock through a shared app group. That works only in a build signed with a developer certificate. In an unsigned build, the widgets stay empty.
